At Leon Paul, we offer both standard and lightweight sockets depending on your preferences and needs. Our lightweight sockets use a lighter bracket and are available in Epee sockets. When combined with our lightweight parts, it can help create a uniquely light weapon.
Sockets
Foil & Sabre
Using a 2 pin set up both Foil and Sabre sockets may look similar, there is one crucial difference between them. The Sabre socket is permanently shortened, which means it requires no wire connections, whereas the Foil socket must be connected to the blade wire via the correct terminal.
Epee
Epee sockets, on the other hand, all follow the same basic design with three pins in a straight line.

Pommels & Nuts
Pommels and nuts are important for several reasons. Firstly, they provide a secure connection between the blade and the handle, which ensures the blade does not come loose while you’re fencing.
Both pommels and nuts can affect the balance and weight of the weapon. By choosing different types of pommels and nuts fencers can customize their weapons to suit their individual preferences.
We have a wide range of styles to create the perfect weighted grip or to make your weapon as light as possible.
In fencing, the method of securing the blade to the handle varies depending on the type of grip. French grip weapons are secured with a pommel, while pistol grip weapons are secured with a nut.
