Maintaining your fencing weapon is essential to ensure that it perform well during competitions and practice sessions. Here are some tips and a guide on how to maintain your fencing weapon for Foil, Epee and Sabre.

1. Cleaning the blade: After each use, use a soft cloth to wipe the blade clean of any dirt, sweat or moisture. Make sure to clean the blade thoroughly and avoid touching the edges with your bare hands.

2. Checking the point: Check the point of your weapon regularly to ensure that it is not bent or damaged. If you notice any damage, replace the point immediately. It’s also a good idea to test the point regularly to make sure it’s working properly.

3. Maintaining the grip: Clean the grip of your fencing weapon regularly to remove any dirt or sweat. You can use a damp cloth to wipe the grip clean. If the grip is starting to wear out, you can replace it with a new one.

4. Checking the guard: Inspect the guard of your weapon regularly to make sure it is not bent or damaged. If you notice, replace the guard immediately.
